Probably the one place you can't afford to miss if you're looking to do a shopping day - North Laine is filled with 100's of small, unique shops and is only 5 minutes from the station.
North Laine always feels like a great place to absorb the atmosphere of Brighton - it's quirky, unique and bustling, with over 300 shops, almost all of which are independent stores. Most of these streets are partly or completely pedestrianised too.
The busiest streets run from Trafalgar Street, down Sydney Street and Kensington Gardens. At this point Gardner Street, Regent Street and Jubilee Street are all pretty bustling.
It's hard to cover just what level of diversity the shops cover without seeing it for yourself, but a few specific highlights include Cyberdog (imported from Camden Market) and Jump the Gun (top quality mod style suits) for clothes and Dave's Comics for comics and games. Most important to mention is Snooper's Paradise on Kensington Gardens, which is a bit like a giant, constant car-boot sale. You might be able to find an original gameboy and pokemon, or a full, handmade steampunk style costume, or a great lamp for the house. Don't miss a chance to pop in and explore!
